KZ_K Studio
A fashion studio and boutique in SoHo, organised around a library bar for clients and collaborators.
The KZ_K fashion design studio was influenced by mid-century aesthetics and functionalism to create an inspiring and welcoming space.
01 The assignment
Give a fashion label one space that works as a working studio, a place to receive clients and a boutique, without any of those roles getting in the way of the others.
02 The design response
The feature library bar serves as a space to entertain clients as well as a collaboration room for the designers. Birch plywood walls, charred-timber columns, a marble-topped island and black pendant lights hold the room together; a bent-steel hook rail runs the length of the studio.
03 Materials and custom elements
Birch plywood panelling, charred timber, honed marble, blackened steel, black enamel pendants and linear fluorescent-style lighting.
