The Sultan Room
A music and theatre venue with a programmable LED wall and shag-carpeted walls.
A musical and theatrical venue featuring a custom, programmable LED light wall, shag-carpet-clad walls and flexible seating. The Sultan Room attracts every form of expression and has become a major draw for the Bushwick community.
The LED light wall was custom designed and is fully programmable for each performance.
01 The assignment
Build a venue that could host live music, theatre and late-night programming inside the same building as Turk's Inn, with a visual identity strong enough to stand on its own.
02 The design response
The stage backdrop is a custom programmable LED wall whose faceted geometry animates the whole room. Deep-toned shag carpet lines the walls for acoustics and atmosphere, a curved bar glows under coloured light, and a VIP lounge sits behind a porthole door.
03 How it operates
Flexible seating lets the room switch between seated shows, standing performances and private events. The bar is positioned to serve the room without crossing the stage sightlines.
04 Materials and custom elements
Programmable LED panels, shag carpet wall cladding, tufted leather, carved timber, mirror ball and a full lighting rig.
